After much demand through emails and comments on this blog we have reopened The Mihalism Forum. The forum is pretty basic right now with general community and Mihalism related forums. We are looking for ideas on new forums to create. Therefore, if you have any go here to let us know. We hope you enjoy!
With the release of Mihalism Multi Host v4.0.2 in late April we will be giving Mihalism Multi Host users even more from what is already a fantastic image hosting software. In this entry we will be listing some of the key changes and features in the upcoming release.
1. GD or Imagick; you pick. In version 4.0.2 the requirement for the GD Graphics Library has disappeared because we will be introducing full support for the Imagick Image Library which will used by default if available.
With the full support of Imagick Mihalism Multi Host will have more advanced features. For example, hidden comments within images that some image editing softwares generate will be displayed in the viewer if available. Click here for an example comment.
2. Better and more uniform thumbnails. If you are using Imagick with Mihalism Multi Host, then you will have the ability to have more uniform thumbnails and an optional resobar (Resolution Bar).
The thubmbnails would be more uniform because instead of being saved in the format of the parent image, the thumbnails will be compressed and saved in jpeg format. The saving of the thumbnails in a single format will make them faster to load and easier to manage.
The resobar which is the black bar that can be seen on this example thumbnail is useful when linking images in forums, websites, and emails. It gives the person that will view the image general information about it before they try to load it. The resobar is an optional setting which by default is turned off.
3. Easier banning and image deletion. With the introduction of version 4.0.2 the deletion of images of banned IP addresses and users will be easier. This is because when you ban an IP address or username you will have the option to delete any images that, that person has uploaded.

In the latest version of Mihalism Multi Host we introduced support for ImageMagick. The introduction of support for ImageMagick gave Mihalism Multi Host the ability to create thumbnails for a wider range of file types that GD could not. For the next version of Mihalism Multi Host we are considering using ImageMagick to do more then just offer more file types, we will make it create thumbnails similar to this one:
